Welcome to the Niagara District CUPE Council

The Niagara District CUPE Council is dedicated to uniting and empowering CUPE locals across the Niagara Region through solidarity, advocacy, and collective action. We support our affiliated locals by fostering collaboration, sharing resources, providing a platform for mutual support, and amplifying their voices on regional and provincial issues.

Through active outreach and engagement, we work to strengthen connections with all locals in the region, ensuring their concerns are heard and their efforts supported. Together, we work to advance the rights and wellbeing of all workers by promoting social and economic justice, defending public services, and advocating for fair and inclusive workplaces. Committed to equity and democratic values, we strive to build a stronger labour movement and a more just society for all.

June is PRIDE Month!

ALL OUT TO SUPPORT STRIKING CUPE 2073 MEMBERS- June 16th 2025

CUPE 2073 members work at Canadian Hearing Services (CHS), supporting Deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing Ontarians. Local 2073 members have been on strike since April 28, 2025, with no end in sight. Their employer refuses to return to the bargaining table, while people who depend on these critical services are suffering and workers are left languishing on the picket line.

This golf tournament is a vanity project by Julia Dumanian. It used to be an event for Deaf people by Deaf people — now they’ve been shut out, while the CEO’s wealthy friends play golf.

We need you to show up and make CUPE 2073 members’ voices heard!

This is an INFORMATIONAL PICKET — our goal is to educate donors about the crisis at CHS and win their support. We are not shutting down the golf tournament.

Sign up below to let us know you’ll be there.
